Reinke Irrigation Is Honored To Work With Farmers, Ranchers and Livestock Producers

Here at Reinke Manufacturing, we are honored to work with farmers, ranchers and livestock producers on a daily basis. Your perseverance, hard work and stewardship is a great example for all of us to follow. So today, on #NationalAgDay, join us in thanking farmers, ranchers, livestock producers and all those involved in agriculture!
  • Each American farmer feeds about 144 people; each Canadian farmer feeds about 120 people.
  • The world population will grow from 7 billion to 9 billion by 2050. Farmers will have to grow more than 60 percent more food than what is now produced.
  • 50,000 fewer gallons of water are needed to grow an irrigated acre of corn today as compared to 20 years ago.
  • Agriculture provides most all of what you eat, use and wear on a daily basis.
  • Today’s farmers produce 262 percent more food with 2 percent fewer inputs (labor, seeds, feed, fertilizer, etc.), than in 1950.
  • Farming employs more than 26 million American and Canadian workers.
  • There are around 2.4 million farms in the United States and Canada.
  • Approximately 97% of U.S. farms are operated by families, family partnerships, or family corporations.
  • Canada produces more than 125 different fruit and vegetable crops from coast to coast.
  • Raising beef cattle is the single largest segment of American agriculture.
  • The average dairy cow produces seven gallons of milk a day, 2,100 pounds of milk a month, and 46,000 glasses of milk a year.
  • One pound of wool can make 10 miles of yarn.
  • There are 150 yards (450 feet) of wool yarn in a baseball
  • Soybeans are an important ingredient for the production of crayons. In fact one acre of soybeans producers 82,368 crayons.
