Reinke Expands Summer Weld Program to Eight School Districts
(DESHLER, Neb.) – June 4, 2025 – Reinke Manufacturing, a global leader in irrigation systems and technology, is proud to announce the expansion of its Summer Weld Program, now reaching students across eight school districts.
Building on the success of its initial kick-off, which started in 2023, this initiative continues to provide hands-on training in American Welding Society (AWS)-certified techniques, equipping students with valuable skills for careers in manufacturing, agriculture, and construction.
Since then, a second instructor has been added to accommodate the increase in student registrations. The program is led by AWS-certified instructors Chuck Hatzenbuehler and Junior Drohman, who guide students through gas metal arc welding, spray transfer, oxygen-fuel cutting, and other essential fabrication skills. By offering real-world experience aligned with professional certification standards, Reinke remains committed to workforce development in skilled trades.
Reinke President Chris Roth said, "At Reinke, we believe in investing in the next generation of skilled workers. Expanding the Summer Weld Program allows us to provide more students with hands-on training that builds confidence and prepares them for careers in manufacturing and beyond." Students who complete the course will receive a $500 award, underscoring the company’s commitment to investing in technical education and career pathways for young professionals in the region.
Thayer Central weld student, Keyton Svoboda, said, “I’m taking this class to learn the different types of welds and hope to get certified in all types of welding. I am thinking about going into the trades in the future and this class will really help. I’m also interested in using a torch to cut metal.”
Reinke Manufacturing is proud to support local education and industry, ensuring that future generations are prepared for the demands of modern fabrication and production. The company remains committed to supporting local communities and advancing technical education through initiatives like the Summer Weld Program.
