REINKE HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL:                      LIGHTER YET STRONGER

ore than 40 years ago, Reinke considered all the raw materials out there and determined high-strength steel stands high above the rest. High-strength steel, combined with superior engineering, has resulted in a system that is lightweight, yet uncompromisingly durable.

All the Electrogator® II pivots and lateral move systems use high-strength steel. This steel is up to 50% stronger than the steel used in competitors’ irrigation systems. The result is a stronger structure, weighing as much as 20% less.

A Reinke system eliminates up to three tons of soil-compacting weight when compared to our competitors’ machines. Less weight translates to
to enhanced system flotation. Tires are less likely to make ruts in your field and get stuck. “With our other systems, we definitely notice more tracking in the field and have more stuck pivots, but the Reinke machines seem to get through the muck and mire,” said James Granstrom, a Nebraska farmer.

Six thousand fewer pounds also means considerably less stress and wear on the system’s drivetrain and other critical system components. Simply put, Reinke irrigation systems are more durable, have less downtime and need fewer repairs. No one wants to experience downtime during the growing season because of a drivetrain failure. High-strength steel helps avoid those problems.

High-strength steel has been a proven foundation for our system’s design. In the tower support design, high-strength steel used in the single C-channel leg eliminates the need for cross bracing between the tower legs, thus removing additional weight. That’s why the single-leg tower always
stands superior.

The truss assembly that supports the water pipe on a Reinke system is also made of high-strength steel. The trusses are strong, lightweight and
spaced 19 feet apart, as opposed to our competitors’ 20- or 22- foot spacing. The added support helps create an even load distribution.
