As the largest container port on the Black Sea, Constanta, Romania, is creating a competitive edge for Reinke in Eastern Europe.
“These international warehouses give us a presence, not just in one country but throughout an entire region,” Vice President International Jim Snyder said. “They help create brand recognition across the globe and ultimately bring in sales.”
The warehouse has been in operation since September, shipping parts to Ukraine, Russia, Hungary and Spain. The Constanta location also will make shipping to North Africa dealerships in Algeria and Egypt more expedient.
Snyder said Eastern European dealers were disappointed when an opening ceremony with Reinke President Chris Roth and Romanian dignitaries, scheduled for March, had to be canceled as a precaution against the coronavirus. He plans to conduct a meeting at the warehouse next year, allowing dealers to see where their parts come from.

Dealerships support agricultural producers who grow corn, potatoes, sunflowers and other crops, Snyder said. Thanks to the Constanta warehouse, the shipping time for a new irrigation system went from an average of seven weeks to about two and a half weeks.
A lower wait time means dealerships can provide service to growers who weren’t able to place advance orders and still get them up and running by planting season. Dealers can obtain replacement parts via land freight within a day or two, which translates to lower shipping costs. Eastern European dealers previously paid air freight from the U.S. in some cases.
Warehouse Manager George Botca, Regional Technical Service Trainer William Chiru and Storekeeper Alexandru Filat operate the location. Snyder said finding skilled labor in Eastern Europe wasn’t easy, as much of the region’s workforce has migrated westward in search of jobs. Chiru, for example, used to work on oil platforms in the Black Sea.
Snyder thanked company leadership for their international buy-in.
